Solutions Specialist

Piql AS is now seeking to hire an innovative Solutions Specialist with DevOps and support desk skills.


Piql AS, known for its innovation, is the global head-office of a partner network offering digital preservation and long-term data storage services around the world, including storage in the famous Arctic World Archive. These services are enabled by our unique and award-winning technology, developed in Drammen in cooperation with international research institutions and R&D driven companies. Our vision is to give eternal life to information through innovation, and we move forward by being creative challengers, hands-on experts, and attentive service providers. Piql runs several public-funded international research projects, works closely with global suppliers and clients.


Your tasks and responsibilities will be to:

  • Fill a service-oriented role
  • Assume responsibility for administrating and managing all Piql’s IT systems
  • Provide technical support both internally and externally to clients, partners and internal users
  • Manage and troubleshoot development pipelines
  • Conduct testing, troubleshooting and training on our digital preservation solutions
  • Write documentation


The person we are looking for has these desired qualifications:

  • A BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
  • Ability to understand and work with complex software and hardware systems
  • Experience in server infrastructure and system administration
  • Proven working experience with Linux based environments
  • Experience with Virtualization (Preferably Proxmox)
  • Experience with monitoring systems
  • Experience administrating development tools (GitHub, Jira, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Kubernetes, etc.)


The ideal candidate also has:

  • Scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python)
  • Networking knowledge
  • Experience with customer service
  • The ability to work well within a team
  • A structured and proactive mindset
  • Fluency in Norwegian and English (spoken and written)
  • 5-10 years+ of working experience in related tasks
